10 years ago, in response to the September 11 attack on the World Trade Center that left lower Manhattan changed forever, a new film festival was created in what would have been the shadow of the Twin Towers. On Wednesday, April 18, 2012 the Tribeca Film Festival opened on a lighter…
My day yesterday

More writing I did today:
You know you are having a good show when you walk through the halls and people stop you to say, “I heard about your glasses-free 3D demo…or I saw your Professional Reference Monitor in someone else’s booth and it rocked…I’ve got to get to the Dolby booth!
That is how I spent my morning.

A little post I did for work:

San Francisco is a small city, 7 miles by 7 miles, even so, it is a city of villages with lots of streets and alleys and always new discoveries to be had. Like my recent discovery of a whole wall of devilish looking sea creatures one block over from where I have been getting my haircut every four weeks for the last four years.
My husband and I share one car, but he is the main drive and I don’t usually have it. I take the shuttle offered by my employer to the BART station and walk the ten minute walk to my hair salon. But two weeks ago my husband was out of town and I had the car. So I drove to the salon and parked in a lot not to far away.
When I got the car in my spot and looked up I saw a giant wall across another small road the opposite direction of the salon with a wall covered in the following graffiti.

There was a lobster with a skull body:

A giant squid:

And a massive purple octopus all with a large shark running the length of the wall with the words “Sink or swim” in the center:

Clearly this piece had taken a long time. There was so much detail to admire but I was going to be late for my appointment so I had to move on. I plan to go a little early next time and check out more of it!
